Help answer the question about internet service
How can you avoid having the internet service on a Verizon blackberry?I want a blackberry curve from verizon that I would order off ebay, but I will not use the internet service and I don't want to pay for something i won't use. How can I still have the blackberry without the internet on it?

Satellite is better than dial-up. Most of the time. That's all the good I can say about it. I work from home telecommuting and had to use satellite for three years. The latency made it a bloody nightmare. I now have fixed wireless and it rocks.
If latency isn't a problem, if all you need it for is surfing, then if you can spring $50 to $80 bucks a month, go for it. If you can get anything else, look into it. You'll have to do some digging to find out if wireless is around you. I found out because a neighbor a couple of miles away built a wireless tower and then came knocking on my door. Thank God. Most of the websites that list local internet providers do not include all of them and chances are, there is a wireless provider somewhere around you–hopefully.
By the way–I used WildBlue and hated it. Maybe you'll have better luck.
